Đôi mắt nhìn không còn men sóng sánh

Can cớ gì mà nghĩ nhớ hay quên?"

Who does time favor?

20-25: time favors both men and women in love
25 and up: time punishes women for being single
25-35: time rewards men for being alone
35 and up: time punishes men too, if he's financially unstable

Marriage is not a fair game

Girls and boys are almost equal in love, each has their own say, defend their own interests, and trying to change each other to suite them. But when it comes to marriage, or the process of making that decision, men always have the advantage.
No matter how independent the woman is. By the end of the day, it's her that need the security of a family. Maybe not now, maybe not yet, but eventually it is. It's her who need a man, several kids and daily routines of cooking, tidying, washing and sleeping.
Men on the other hand, is the creature of randomness, unorganized, adventurous and no need for long term security. They don't feel lonely often. Sexually, they are also easier satisfied, either by hanging out in pubs, or by legal/illegal prostitution. Women don't have those 'advantages', society doesn't look down on them greatly doing such things. Socially, men get more girls when they grow old and grow rich. Women, just get less or actually none when they grow old, and become rich might actually turn out a nightmare of loneliness. Psychologically, women get worried when they have no man. Men, on the contrary, feel exhilarated when they get freedoms from woman's influence. Men are the creatures that are best at hit and run. Women, get hit and get the bruise.

ImportError: No module named osgeo - Solution

I was playing with this Thematic Mapping with Google Map API and want to run their python code (to get the coordinates out in my format). Getting Shapely (and its osgeo library) to work on Windows took me 2 day without success. This error just hard to get by:

ImportError: No module named osgeo

So my advice is to run it on Linux. Here's how to do it on Ubuntu

First make sure you have python working. You can install it by:

sudo apt-get install python-setuptools

Install gdal>osgeo library

Go to System > Administration > Synaptic Package Manager
- Search gdal in 'Quick Search' box. Select it and choose 'Mark for installation'
- Search gdal-python. Mark it for installation as well.
- Click Apply button on the toolbar.

The packages will be installed, about 20 of them.

After they finish, you can run python (Type 'python' in terminal) and this command should work:
>>> from osgeo import ogr

Sun Virtualbox - A disk image already registered error

If you receive this error (like I do after playing with Chrome OS)

A disk image with UUID {4c656719-39df-4129-ac50-3e54f5a2faa3} or file path 'D:\Downloads\chrome-os-0.4.22.8-gdgt.vmdk' is already registered.

Result Code:
E_INVALIDARG (0x80070057)
Component:
VirtualBox
Interface:
IVirtualBox {2d3b9ea7-25f5-4f07-a8e1-7dd7e0dcf667}

Solution:
Open: C:\Users\adminNUS\.VirtualBox\virtualbox.xml and delete the troublesome entry. In this case:
<Image uuid="{4c656719-39df-4129-ac50-3e54f5a2faa3}" src="D:\Downloads\chrome-os-0.4.22.8-gdgt.vmdk"/>

inside <DVDImages> tag.

How many times a day a clock’s hands overlap?

Seem likes many have been beating around the bush with lengthy answers. I think this analytical solution will answer it once and for all:

Let t be the time (in minute) from 00:00 when the two hands first overlap. The angle each hand makes to number 12 is:
minute hand: 360/60t = 6t (degree)
hour hand: 360/12*60 = 0.5t (degree)

Two hands overlap if 6t mod 360 = 0.5t
equivalently: 0.5t + 360k = 6t (for non-negative integer k=0,1,2,...)
OR t = 360k/5.5
So within a day you need t < 24*60 = 1440 => max k = 22

We can easily find the exact moment where two hand matches.
First moment after 0:00 is for k=1 => t = 65.4545 or 1h5 minute and 27.272727.. seconds
and so on.

Hourly earned vs. Years of schooling

Click to enlarge

12 years is equivalent to finishing high school
16: finish college
20: finish graduate school (PhD)

Some of my interpretations:
  • Majority of people who finish high school will perform as well as majority of those just finish college (12yr vs. 16yr).
  • Some drop-outs from colleges do quite well (13 years, we also know some famous examples)
  • Best-doers in colleges seem to get highest pay (highest point in 16 year column)
  • Masters have minor advantage, you should have just stop at high school instead :))
  • PhD definitely do better than all those who just halfway in secondary school (7 years). Congratulations!
  • Smartest PhD can't beat smartest bachelor.
  • Drop out late in your PhD is expensive (you are worse than both Masters and PhDs)
  • All who study more than 21 years are ....dead :D:D

What do you think?
